About SkillTweak
What is SkillTweak?
SkillTweak is a virtual coaching platform founded by Kristine Stepanovich, a former U.S. Junior National Team gymnast, veteran coach, and NAWGJ-certified judge. It gives gymnasts, parents, and coaches access to judge-grade routine reviews and scoring, competition-ready choreography, and one-on-one mentoring — wherever they train.
Who is Coach Kristine?
Kristine Stepanovich competed as a member of the U.S. Junior National Team, has coached competitive gymnasts for twenty years, and is a NAWGJ-certified judge. When she reviews a routine, you are getting the same eyes that score routines in real competition.
My athlete already has a coach — why add SkillTweak?
SkillTweak supplements gym training; it never replaces it. A second set of expert eyes — especially a judge’s eyes — catches scoring opportunities that day-to-day training can’t, and validates the work your coach is already doing. Many athletes bring their SkillTweak feedback straight to their coach.
What levels and disciplines do you cover?
Women’s artistic gymnastics — vault, bars, beam, and floor — across competitive levels. Tell us the athlete’s level and program in the submission form and the review is scored accordingly. Not sure your program fits? Email kris@skilltweak.com before you buy and ask.
Is this the same as the SkillTweak app?
Same brand, same login, two tools. skilltweak.com is where you buy and receive coaching — video reviews, routines, mentoring. The SkillTweak app (skilltweak.app) is our free routine builder, where you assemble routines and see projected scores. One account works on both.
Video Reviews & Scoring
How does a video review work?
Four steps: purchase a video review, submit your video with a short questionnaire about the athlete and what you want looked at, Coach Kristine reviews and scores it, and you get an email when your written feedback is ready in your portal. It stays there for you to reread any time.
What exactly do I get back?
Detailed written feedback on execution, composition, and technique, plus judge-grade scoring: a Difficulty (D) score, an Execution (E) score range, notes per event, and the total score range the routine would likely receive in competition — with the specific fixes that would raise it.
How long does a review take?
Feedback is delivered within 5 business days of your video submission — usually sooner. You’ll get an email the moment it’s ready.
How should I film the routine?
Film in landscape with the full body and apparatus in frame for the entire routine, from a stable position (no zooming or panning if you can avoid it), with decent lighting. One routine per video. Judge’s-table perspective is ideal but not required — if Kristine can see the whole athlete, she can score it.
Do I upload the video or share a link?
Either. Upload the file directly from your phone or computer (up to 2GB — MP4, MOV, or WebM), or paste a link to a YouTube (unlisted is fine), Google Drive, or Dropbox video. If you share a link, double-check it’s set to shareable before submitting.
What if something is wrong with my video?
If Kristine can’t review your video — wrong link permissions, athlete out of frame, video won’t play — she’ll send it back with a note explaining the problem, and you can fix and resubmit at no extra charge.
Routines, Choreography & Mentoring
What comes with a pre-choreographed routine?
A competition-ready balance beam or floor routine designed by a national-level choreographer and matched to your level, delivered as an instant digital download the moment you purchase. Your downloads stay available in your portal.
How does custom choreography work?
Custom choreography is a one-on-one engagement: a beam or floor routine built around the athlete’s strengths, style, and music, choreographed directly with Coach Kristine. Start from the Custom Choreography page and tell us about the athlete — Kristine will follow up to scope the engagement.
What happens in a 1x1 mentoring session?
Private virtual sessions with Coach Kristine, booked online at a time that works for you. Sessions cover skill development, competition preparation, and mental resilience — confidence, managing pressure, fear after a setback, and breaking through plateaus.
What is mock-meet judging?
Kristine brings real judging to your gym before competition season: an on-site mock meet with authentic scoring and actionable feedback for your whole team. Pricing is quoted per gym — request a quote from the Mock Meets page and we’ll follow up.
Privacy & Young Athletes
Who can see my videos?
Only Coach Kristine and you. Uploaded videos are stored privately, never published, and never used for anything except your review — unless you separately opt in to the media release. Uploaded videos are deleted 12 months after your feedback is delivered. See our Privacy Policy for full details.
My athlete is under 13 — can they use SkillTweak?
Yes, through you. Athletes 13 and older may create their own account with a parent or guardian’s consent, which we collect at registration. For athletes under 13, a parent or guardian creates and manages the account on their behalf.
What is the media release checkbox at signup?
It’s optional, and unchecked by default. If you opt in, SkillTweak may use short clips or images from submitted videos in its own marketing — never with the athlete’s name, never sold to anyone. Declining changes nothing about your service, and you can withdraw permission at any time by emailing privacy@skilltweak.com.
Can I delete my account and data?
Yes. Email privacy@skilltweak.com and we’ll act on verified deletion requests within 30 days — account, videos, and personal information.
Payments & Policies
How do I pay?
All payments are processed securely through Stripe. We never see or store your card details.
What is your refund policy?
Video reviews and digital routine downloads are not refundable once the feedback is delivered or the download is accessed. Before that point, if something has gone wrong — a duplicate purchase, an accidental order — email kris@skilltweak.com and we’ll make it right.
Do you work with whole teams or gyms?
Yes — mock-meet judging is built for teams, and gyms often book video reviews for several athletes ahead of championship season. For team arrangements, request a quote from the Mock Meets page or email kris@skilltweak.com.
